Hydro Energy Planning & Electrical Services in Midcoast Maine

A small water-power project begins with the water resource and permission to use it. We help property owners organize a microhydro feasibility conversation and the electrical-system choices that may follow.

Start with head, flow, and the permit pathway.

Usable head is the drop in elevation available to the system; flow is the water available over time. Both matter. A lively spring stream, a quiet pond, or an old dam is not enough information to select a turbine or promise year-round output. Existing measurements and records are useful; a new resource survey is separate work.

Maine waterway and hydropower rules can apply even to a small project. State and, where applicable, federal requirements must be checked. Our review identifies questions and needed specialist input; it does not authorize diversion, stream work, dam alteration, or a new intake.

What the paid review includes

Each review covers one property and one system approach, your submitted information, a phone or video discussion of up to 30 minutes, and a written concept roadmap. We identify promising options, unresolved questions, and the next useful steps before you commit to equipment.

Contact Red Sky before paying so we can confirm the scope. Site measurement, stamped engineering, permits, structural or civil work, utility fees, equipment, and installation are separate. Recommendations depend on the quality of the information provided; a review may find that the project is not a good fit.
