Grid-Tied Solar Planning in Midcoast Maine

Reduce utility-supplied energy with a solar array planned around your property and electrical service. This review helps you compare a roof or ground-mount approach before you commit to equipment.

Roof or ground array, with a clear utility connection plan

This approach suits a property with utility service where the main goal is onsite generation. We compare your stated energy use and future loads with available array locations. A conventional grid-tied system is not a backup-power system; planned outage operation is a separate design question.

The concept compares roof and ground locations, the route from the array to the service, and connection questions at the existing panel or meter. Roof age, shading, work access, and room for equipment are part of the discussion. Structural suitability and final electrical connection details need field confirmation.

Solar Grid-Tied Design Review

$199 · One-time preliminary planning fee

For one property and one system approach. Includes review of your submitted information, one phone or video discussion of up to 30 minutes, and a written concept roadmap.

Your written roadmap includes

A comparison of the most plausible array-location approaches based on your submitted information.

A preliminary electrical-scope and utility-interconnection checklist.

A written list of missing information and the next steps for an installation quote.

A clear decision to pause, collect better data, or involve a specialist is a useful result too. This review does not guarantee project feasibility, a specific energy output, or utility approval.

What to send

Send the service address, up to 12 months of electric bills if available, roof and ground-area photos, service/panel photos taken without opening covers, and any plans for heat pumps, EV charging, or shop equipment.

Use existing records and safely accessible photos. Do not remove energized equipment covers, climb a roof or tower, or enter a waterway to collect information for this review.

Do you expect power during an outage?

If that is a priority, compare our grid-interactive solar option before selecting an inverter. A utility-connected array and a backup-capable system have different equipment and controls.

Plan around the building you actually have

For an older Midcoast home or a detached barn, the array location and the wire route may matter as much as the panel count. Tell us if the roof is nearing replacement or the outbuilding is on a separate service.

Confirm the scope before paying

Contact Red Sky with your address and the review name. We will confirm whether the remote review fits your project and send the matching payment link. You keep the written roadmap whether or not Red Sky performs later electrical work.

This is preliminary advisory planning, not a permit-ready or stamped design. Site surveys, wind or water-resource measurement campaigns, detailed equipment specifications, structural and civil engineering, permit applications, utility fees, equipment, and installation are separate services. Any next-stage work is agreed and quoted separately.
